Wow…it’s been awhile since I posted but I have been a busy, busy girl. From bathroom vanities, to mantles, to doors, to beds and now kitchens…I’ve been a painting, distressing, and waxing machine. One fun project I just wrapped up was a mantle in a new construction home. The clients purchased an amazing chippy mantle and added it as accent pieces on new wood. The goal was to make the new wood look old and blend with the older pieces. Take peek and see if you can tell where the old ends and the new begins….
Here’s how the mantle looked before…
Don’t you just love all of that natural chippiness and crackling? All of the bright white areas had been sprayed with multiple coats of oil based trim paint. This piece literally took blood, sweat, and tears in it and every second was worth it to achieve the end result and happy homeowners!
The floors are being stained this week but I just couldn’t resist showing you this beauty before everything was completed. They have rustic beams and pieces throughout their home and it is absolutely gorgeous. One other piece I had the pleasure of painting for them was their pantry door. It is an 8 foot door located at the end of a long hallway.
Who doesn’t love a rustic barn red door? What a fun project!
