Farmhouse Side Table

It is finally time to show you some color!  Check out this turquoise farmhouse side table.

This came as part of a french provincial bedroom set that was one of the best deals I have found to date.  I basically sent my husband on a wild goose the the dark...with spotty cell service...with directions that went something like turn left at the big tree on the corner...and it was so worth it {he even agreed}!  This piece was originally finished in a pale yellow with sage accents and was in fairly good condition but had a lot of flaky paint.

I definitely think the turquoise color brought this piece back to life.  The finish is a custom mix of Aubusson Blue, French Linen and Old White drybrushed and sealed with clear and dark wax.  I painted and sealed the door hardware but left the knobs their original finish.

This piece is currently available at ReFresh Home.  I can't wait to show you the other pieces of the set, each with a different finish.

  1. Tonight, after painting I decide to look up instructions on how to apply the ASCP dark wax and I watched your video on how to apply ASCP Clear wax. (and now I know to prep my wax brush! LOL! which means no waxing until Sunday for me!) Great "How To" video. Thanks! After watching your video, I looked at your blog and you have a great talent with furniture. Looking forward to seeing more of your finished furniture. Wanda

    1. So glad you found me BEFORE you had to pick tiny brush hairs out of your wax! :) I hope to have a dark wax tutorial up soon.

  2. The wax and new color work well together
