The Beginning...

My first post...aahhh.  I have been stewing {that's country for thinking deeply} over this blog for nearly 6 months.  At this point it seems a little silly that I would contemplate it for this long.  After all, it only took me a couple of days to create a logo & design the layout of the blog {not to mention that I didn't even take that long to decide on us having a 2nd child}.  So what was it that kept that me from taking the leap?  FEAR {of judgement}, I guess.  It is not easy to put yourself out there when it's something that feels so personal.  {Yes, I realize that this is a design blog & we are talking about painted furniture BUT I love each piece that much.}  I always say that health care is my career but revamping/redesigning furniture is my passion.  I love taking old, junky furniture & giving it new life.  I love when I stare at a piece of outdated furniture & see what it COULD be not what it is.  {It feels almost as good as holding a newborn baby.}  That has led me to this point.  I love reinventing furniture AND love to talk about reinventing furniture AND love to show pictures of said furniture so doesn't it just seem like starting a blog is only natural??

So friends, welcome to Simply Reinvented.  A blog about taking old things, breathing new life into them and loving them again.  I'm not sure where this blog will lead me {us} but I know it'll include the 3 Ts along the way {you know, triumphs, tutorials and total disasters} and I hope you enjoy them all.

Oh, one other thing for those curious types like me.  You may be wondering what a sparrow has to do with a design blog.  I don't want to get all deep thoughts with you {at least not during our first meeting} but sparrows have a special meaning.  They are small but mighty, vigilant, productive, yet simple and delicate.  All of which I hope to be as I pursue my passion.  Welcome...thanks for reading & sharing.  {and don't be shy...I love comments so post away!}

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?"
Psalm 56:3-4

  2. I just found your blog via your youtube video, which I loved! You do an amazing job on your pieces and I like that you use white a lot. I love white on furniture! So simple and fresh. I am working on my first piece using ASCP and so far it's going good but I'm at the waxing stage now and your video has relieved a lot of my fears with using it.

    I am your newest follower! :)

    I came across your blog in search of advice on how to begin reinventing furniture, I really like your blog, it's very inspiring. I have always loved buying old furniture for a bargain but never know where to start or how to get it to look like the images I have in my head of what it could be. Do you have any tips for a beginner?

    thanks
